&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;I’m seriously beginning to lose faith in the fitblr “community”. Body-shaming is ALWAYS WRONG, even if you’re trying to use it as a tactic to encourage people to lift weights. So much of my dash is filled with girls thinking they’re BETTER than other girls because they mainly strength train rather than focus on cardio. I even saw one person say something along the lines of, “One day those cardio bunnies will learn…”. We are all on an individual journey here. The goal here is HEALTH. And the way to achieve that is by finding an exercise you enjoy. If you love pumping iron, then awesome! Go for it! But let’s squash this mentality that you’re somehow better or cooler than the girl over on the tredmill. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;How is this photo ANY BETTER than the millions of “thinspo” photos making a similar comparison between a skinny girl and a larger one? And yet you all sit here and claim to be against that thought process. This constant competition between girls to be ______-er than the next is a large part of what begins girls on the path of an eating disorder. Health is not a contest.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Get real tip No. 3&lt;/strong&gt;: This is perhaps the cruelest. You probably can’t expect to be as flab-free as when you were 20. “Skin loses elasticity as you age,” Sedlock says. The sagging of the skin adds to the unsightly appearance of flab, she says.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Other factors also make flab a challenge, says Jim White, an exercise physiologist and registered dietitian in Virginia Beach, Va.  who is a national spokesman for the American Dietetic Association. “As we age, muscle mass declines, and metabolism slows, so we are definitely fighting an uphill battle.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So is some flab inevitable with age? “It seems to happen, but if you make a concentrated effort to avoid it, you can,” Sedlock says. Too late if you’re reading this article, of course, but preventing flab is a lot easier than banishing it, she says.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Even so, it’s possible to reduce your fat and flab, White and Sedlock say.
